The NLRA season is set to invade the Jamestown Speedway, in Jamestown, ND, for the 20th time in series history on Saturday night, June the 13th. The quarter-mile oval on the Stutzman County Fairgrounds is a favorite of many the NLRA series regulars, and it returns to the NLRA schedule for two races in 2015. Two-time, and defending NLRA series champion Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport MB Custom won last years' event in Jamestown, his first since 2003, and third overall, and finished runner-up to Jeff Wildung at the 43rd running of the Stampede last September.

Northern Late Model Racing Association Preview - The 'Prelude to the Johnny ' at River Cities9/3/2014 The 2014 NLRA season comes to a close on Thursday night, September the 4th, at the River Cities Speedway, Grand Forks, ND, after the annual running of the 'Prelude to the Johnny'. Thursday's race is also scheduled to be the fourth series race at the three-tenths mile bullring in Grand Forks. Mike Balcaen, driver of the No. 10 Northstar Canada Victory Circle, won on June 20th for his first win at River Cities since September 2, 2011, as Balcaen took the lead from Pat Doar with five to go. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom, won on August 15th, after taking the lead from Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting machine on lap 16 for his sixth series win on 2014. Ricky Weiss and Jeff Wildung each collected their 12th career NLRA series victories last weekend during the series' traditional labor day double header at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Weiss won his second NLRA series feature of the season at the Viking Speedway on Saturday night. Weiss and Jeff Wildung battled for the lead early until Wildung broke while running second on lap 17. Brad Seng and Donny Schatz were NLRA series winners at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks last weekend. Seng's win on Friday night was his 26th NLRA series victory, tying him with John Seitz for the most in the series' history. Schatz's win on Saturday night came exactly one year to the day of his first series win, which also came at River Cities. On Friday night, Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom took the lead from Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Derrick's Sandblasting machine on lap 16 and lead the rest of the way.
NLRA points leader Brad Seng has collected his fifth win of the 2014 season during Saturday nights' visit to the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. The win is also Seng's 25th career series triumph putting him one win away from tying John Seitz on the all time wins list. Seng is also the first driver since 2004 to win five NLRA features in one season. John Seitz won a series record seven times during the 2004 season.
For the second consecutive NLRA series feature, Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom, lead all 25 laps and collected his fourth win of the 2014 NLRA season last Saturday night at the Devils Lake Speedway. The victory is Seng's 24th career series victory, and he now sits two wins behind the late John Seitz for most in series history. A stretch of four races in four nights begins on Wednesday night June the 25th and continues on Thursday June the 26th at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, as the NLRA races during the 119th Norman County Fair. Then the series heads south and makes its' debut at the I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN on Friday night June the 27th, before ending the weekend with its' third trip of the season at the Viking Speedway in Alexandria, MN. Many NLRA series regulars have remained active since the the final NLRA series event at the River Cities Speedway on September 5th. Many NLRA series regulars competed at the 42nd annual Stock Car Stampede at the Jamestown Speedway last weekend. Jeremy Keller of Mandan, ND drove his No. 11K to back-to-back victories at the Stampede. NLRA'ers that took part in the action at Jamestown included Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom, who followed up his second John Seitz Memorial victory with a fourth place run at the Stampede. Thursday - Doar Wins the Race; Strand Captures First NLRA Series Title Pat Doar raced from eighth to second in his heat race, started fourth in the feature and was the leader by lap four. Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S S&S Transport Mars MB Custom reeled Doar in late in the event, but fell just short by .0134 of a second at the finish. Wisconsin natives AJ Diemel, Adam Hensel, and Chad Mahder rounded out the top five. Brent Larson, Steve Laursen, Jake Redetzke, Jeff Wildung, and John Kaanta rounded out the top ten respectively. Redetzke finished fourth in his B Main, and charged from the 26th starting spot to finish in the eighth spot. |
